What we collect

When you use Ember Travel, we collect:

• Account information (email, username, profile photo)
• Places you save, rate, and visit
• Photos you upload
• Your location (only when you use "near me" features, and only with your permission)
• Content you share to Ember Travel from other apps

How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Show your saved places, ratings, and visits
• Connect you with friends and show their activity
• Display places near your location
• Extract place information from screenshots and audio using AI
• Improve the app experience

What we share

We do not sell your data. We share data with:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider
• OpenAI — to process screenshots and audio for place extraction (images and audio are processed and not stored by OpenAI)
• Google — to look up place details when you search
• Your friends on Ember Travel — they can see your saved places, ratings, and visits

Your controls

You can:

• Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Revoke location permissions in your device settings
• Remove friends to stop sharing activity
